vintage trailer love

I dream of one day owning a vintage camp trailer. An Airstream or maybe a Shasta. I just made a new Pinterest page for my “dream” trailer. You can check it out here.

Every summer we head to Lake Powell and camp on the beach or at the camp ground. We go out in the boat, soak up the sun, play in the sand and basically live the good life. We have been fortunate enough to have my mom’s diesel pusher RV, it’s newer, has A/C, a lot of space and all the amenities of home. Recently my mom has been talking about selling her RV (cry, cry). hence my not-so-serious craigslist search for a cute fixer upper, something we can afford vintage trailer. The more we look the more we see and we could possibly afford!  The big question would be… do we really want to take on yet another project (I say sure, why not… but then I don’t know if that’s my brain talking or my heart).

Here are some favorite vintage trailers I found on the internet, just poking around for fun:

Aren’t these trailers adorable? It makes me want to throw on an apron, put some rollers in my hair and bake all day. I am totally smitten with the idea of getting a vintage trailer. of course there are a lot of things to consider before we ultimately decide to purchase a fixer upper, but I like to think we can do it. See a great article/post here about whether or not purchasing a vintage trailer is right for you.

In my craiglist search I found this beauty for $4500.00.  She’s in “excellent” shape and ready to roll as per the current owner. How cool.

Call me crazy but I really like how this sweet vintage trailer already looks. The interior is in good shape too (it’s basic and boring but would suit us well until we had time to do some of our own design touches).

Here is a cheesy mock-up of how this trailer would look on the beach:

I had to add the flamingo! I think I would just carry a flamingo to stick in the sand because what’s a vintage trailer without a yard flamingo? Holla! I think red and aqua would look really great. But I am also liking the paint combination from the aqua and yellow trailer (pictured earlier in this post).

For now it’s just a day dream but I don’t think it’s too far off into the future. It would look super retro behind our big-ole 1994 F350. Now that’s some style!

I had some fun making this mood board.. it was like window shopping with a skinny girl’s body!  I picked what I loved and I didn’t have to pay a dime or try anything on, now that’s my kind of shopping! I can just imagine myself in this cute little outfit, looking good, thin (eventually), and flirty! How fun!

Beach Relaxed
I made this on Polyvore. What a fun place to fool around.
And in all honesty, I am really dying to try some colored skinny jeans.  I guess this is step one in the process. Aren’t these orange skinny jeans adorable? Maybe they aren’t for everyone but I am really digging these!
And Rainbow flip flops are my go-to shoes, can’t have enough of these! Best flips ever!
I think the Star Wars shirt would be a hit with my hubby and my little guys, they are all Star Wars fans.
Au natural colors for makeup makes me happy, I love the idea of looking “naturally beautiful”.
Those sweet little rosette earrings add a perfect pop of color and in my favorite color. AND, I just got a pixie cut 4 days ago (a big decision but I did it!!), so these little earring will really show with my super short do!
And of course, no summer outfit is complete without a great pair of shades! I love the wayfarer styles for sure!!!
Have a great “summer” day!
